IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF A LEGACY
OUR STORY
The Film
In 2008, on the island of Ibiza, a friend and I created a film that captured the soul of a Blakstad house in the Morna Valley. At a time when homes were shown only through still photos, we saw them as living stories waiting to be told. That film brought the house, the valley, and the spirit of Ibiza to life.
The Friendship
It was the Blakstad office that reached out, having heard about the film from the home’s owner. After the screening, when the room was filled with excitement, Rolph Blakstad—the keeper of Ibiza’s architectural soul—welcomed me into his studio. Surrounded by sacred geometry and hand-drawn plans, we discovered a shared language. We became like tuning forks in harmony, resonating on a level beyond words. For years, until his passing in 2012, we met often and forged a friendship that blended architectural legacy with spiritual depth.
The Legacy
A decade later, I returned to Ibiza with a vision. I shared The Eyeland with Rolf, his youngest son and guardian of the legacy. When he took my hand and said, “I’m all in,” I knew we were walking a path of beauty once more.
